BIOGRAPHY
Zebulon (“Zeb”) Law has been practicing law in southern California since 1992. After having worked as an associate (and then as a partner) for a couple of well-known boutique Orange County firms, Zeb founded his own law firm in 2002.
Zeb earned his bachelors’ degree in International Studies from Long Island University, C.W. Post College in 1985 (summa cum laude). He went on to receive his J.D. from The American University, Washington College of Law in 1988, and his LL.M. degree (Master of Laws in Taxation) from Georgetown University. Zeb worked as an accountant at KPMG in Washington, DC before coming to California. Zeb is still a licensed Certified Public Accountant, although he does not undertake any auditing matters.
Zeb’s practice is primarily transactional, and includes estate planning, business planning, tax planning, and trust and probate administration matters. Zeb is honored to have served many iconic (or well-known) Orange County families for over 30 years, and has recently been helping second- and third-generation families with their planning. Since the early 1990’s, Zeb’s use of complicated planning structures, including irrevocable trusts and family limited partnerships have saved his client families substantial taxes (we estimate the total savings as running well into the hundreds of millions of dollars).
Over the past 10 years, Zeb’s practice has included substantial trust and probate litigation. Some of these cases have involved the largest trust disputes in Orange County. Zeb has successfully represented trustees or beneficiaries of large trust estates, and has served as an expert witness on many litigated cases. Zeb’s clients have received favorable eight figure (and in a couple of cases, nine figure!) judgments or settlements over the past several years.
Zeb has served on several state bar committees over the years. He regularly lectures in front of other lawyers (at state bar meetings and conferences), has lectured nationally on estate planning matters. Zeb has been featured guest on local talk radio, and has written and published numerous articles on estate and tax planning issues.
Zeb has been teaching as an adjunct tax and estate planning professor since 2007. Recently, he has been teaching estate and gift tax (and Wills and Trusts) for the Dale E. Fowler School of Law at Chapman University in Orange, CA. Zeb assists several local Orange County charities, and serves on the board of the Chapman University Estates & Trusts Endowment Advisory Committee.
