I am pleased to announce the continued growth of our firm with the promotion of trial attorney, Chad J. Brandel, to Partner. Chad has been with the firm since 2015 and has over 13 years of experience providing inheritance dispute litigation, business litigation, and premises liability defense work. His trial track record is impeccable and his collaborative efforts with associates, commitment to clients, and tenacious approach to defend their rights are the perfect fit with the values of the firm.

As a Partner with Law and Stein, Chad’s practice areas will continue to focus on representing trustees and beneficiaries in trust and probate litigation matters involving inheritance disputes, breaches of fiduciary obligations, allegations of trustee wrongdoing, and claims of elder abuse and undue influence.

In addition, he represents clients involved in real estate disputes, partnership disputes, and premises liability matters. He strives to help his clients settle disputes before litigation, but if a matter is heading to trial, his clients can rest assured our team will be more prepared than the other side. He also provides corporate counsel services to several large companies.

Mr. Brandel’s diverse legal background further allows him to assist families with their estate planning needs including revocable and irrevocable trusts including Dynasty Trusts, Multi-Generational Trusts, Intentionally Defective Grantor Trusts, IRA Beneficiary trusts, etc.

Prior to joining Law & Stein, LLP, Chad focused on commercial and residential real estate matters, partnership disputes, asset backed private offerings, labor and employment matters, contracts, corporate counsel matters and collections. Additionally, he handled matters involving insurance defense, personal injury, class actions and mass tort.

Early on, Chad had the privilege of gaining a substantial amount of trial and general litigation experience where he was the lead attorney on numerous trials, including second chair on a jury trial in a large plaintiffs’ lawsuit where they obtained a $14 million verdict. In the spring of 2011, Mr. Brandel attended and completed the Orange County Bar Association’s 29th College of Trial Advocacy, an immersive course focusing solely on the nuances of trial.

Chad Brandel is admitted to practice law in the State of California, the United States Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit, and the United States District Court for the Central District of California.

Chad received his Juris Doctor from Chapman University School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts degree from UCLA. He lives in Orange County with his family where he is actively involved in coaching his son’s little league and soccer teams. As an outdoorsman, he enjoys snowboarding, deep sea fishing, and hiking in the Sierras.
